How to DIY to Install Car Voltage Stabilizer (PIVOT RAIZIN VS-1) and Grounding Cable (HKS Mega Thick 8GA 5-Point)
Recently I has purchased some car accessories from Max Audio online store, one of the biggest online automotive store in Malaysia. I bought 2 items, car voltage stabilizer, Pivot Raizin VS-1 for RM145 and Grounding cable HKS Mega Thick 8GA 5-Point for RM65.
Based on the Pivot Raizin VS-1 description written on the packaging label, the product able to improve car performance, save vehicle fuel and enhance the electronic parts in the vehicle when use it together with grounding cables. The Pivot Raizin VS-1 stabilizes the voltage supply from the alternator and battery, and reduce electrical noise from the car circuitry.
Technically, I don’t expect any performance upgrade from this product as what it has claimed on the packaging description as below image.
As long as car circuitry has proper grounding and the circuit connection are still working in optimum level, there is no reason for user to install this device into their vehicle. Trust me, I am Electronic & Electrical Engineering student once before 🙂
This product would be useful for those who have older car, that is more than 8-10 years where the car already have bad circuitry connection, then this voltage stabilizer and grounding cables are able to improve the old car circuitry connection and improve the car performance.
The Pivot Raizin VS-1 come with instruction sheet which guide me step by step how to DIY to install the product into the car:
By the way, since my car is still consider new car(my Toyota Vios is only 3-4 years old from the day it built), you must be wondering why I still buying these products since the products are not going to give me any performance upgrade to my car.
The reason I bought this Pivot Raizin VS-1 and HKS Mega Thick 8GA 5-Point is for exterior outlook enhancement 🙂
It’s looks cool when we open our car engine bay and saw the cool blue gadget with colorful cables surrounding the engine bay, don’t you think so? 🙂
Now, let’s move on to the DIY installation section:
DIY Voltage Stabilizer Pivot Raizin VS-1 Installation to the Car Battery
The voltage stabilizer Pivot Raizin VS-1 circuitry is very simple, the product is only consist the 4 main components which is the capacitor and some other resistors, inductor and LED as indicator.
- The 1st step of the installation is to affix acrylic strong double sided tape on the back case of the Pivot Raizin VS-1.
- Open the car engine bay and locate the right place to install the voltage stabilizer Pivot Raizin VS-1.
**Caution: Try to install the voltage stabilizer at the location where water unlikely to sip in into the device. This Pivot Raizin VS-1 case is not fully waterproof. There is a small gap at the negative terminal.**The instruction sheet has proposed to the user to install the cable terminals facing downward so that the water would be less likely to sip into the circuit.
- Clean the surface where we would affix the Pivot Raizin VS-1 onto it. Ensure the voltage stabilizer cable terminal able to connect to the car battery terminal without overstretching the cables. For me, I affix my voltage stabilizer on the top of the fuse box with the terminal facing inward to the car body.
- The voltage stabilizer Pivot Raizin VS-1 red terminal is connected to the positive terminal while the black terminal is connected to the negative terminal of the battery. Unscrew both of the battery terminal connectors and connect the Pivot cables then tighten back the screw as image below:
- The beautiful blue LED of Pivot Raizin VS-1 will light up if we make the right connection.
We are done with the installation voltage stabilizer Pivot Raizin VS-1 to the car battery 🙂
- Next, we going to install the grounding cables in the engine bay. These installation steps take much longer time as I having difficulty to find the right points to connect the cables to the certain location, moreover some of the point are difficult to perform the grounding cables installation.
Grounding Cable (HKS Mega Thick 8GA 5-Point) Installation
- The grounding cable packaging come with 4 set of screws and nuts, 5 cables and negative terminal connector extender. Without hesitate, let’s install the negative terminal connector extender.
- The HKS Mega Thick 8GA 5-points grounding cable come with 5 different length of cables.
- The 5 points that are recommended to connect the ground cable is from the Pivot Raizin:
i) Car Bulk head – This will improve our car electronic system; ICE and ECU
ii) Car Body – Stabilized electronic system such as ICE and better headlamp brightness
iii) Engine Cylinder Block – This will improve firing system from the spark plug; give better performance
iv) Alternator – Increased stability of of electricity
v) Distributor/Starter – Improve engine starting and plug firing; better performance - Now let’s install the grounding cables into the car. The first point installation is at the Toyota Vios Bulk Head point. Choose the appropriate cable length that fit the length of the cable connection.
- Then connect the next cable to the the car body. This is the 1st way connection to the negative terminal way. There are 2 more to go. Use cable ties to tie the cable, the cable tie will prevent the grounding cable from moving around and prevent it from melting in case the cable accidentally touched the hot part.
- The 2nd connection would be from the negative terminal battery to the engine cylinder. In order to reach the the screwing part, I have to remove the engine cover. The engine cover can be remove by unscrew the 4 screws.
- The next cable would be connected to the alternator. Secure the cable with cable tie and put back the engine cover and screw back the 4 screws.
- The 3rd connection would be connected from the negative terminal of the car battery to the car’s distributor or starter of the car. Secure the grounding cable with cable tie after the cable is connected as per below diagram:
- Ensure the grounding cables and screws and nuts are fully tightened.
Do let me know if you are having problem to locate the installation points of the grounding cables, I am ready to help you.
I has recorded series of video on the DIY too:

It’s looks cool when we open our car engine bay and saw the cool blue gadget with colorful cables surrounding the engine bay, don’t you think so?
^^love the honesty.
thanks for an actual review of these highly marketed items. I like your site/writings btw
Hello Sizzums!
Thanks for dropping by and comment. I really appreciate that!
Yes, that blue gadget indeed improves the engine bay outlook so much cooler even though it doesn’t really make any different to the performance.
Are you doing that too?
I hope to see you around again 🙂
Grounding cables has effects. If you actually had voltage meter gauge installed, you will notice the voltage is much more stable and higher than usual. Well, I always stare at my meter gauges so I can know the slight difference. Have yet to get any VS, because am afraid of imitations, quite a few of my friends has issue with fake VS and it affects the car, some went haywire. Quite worried about it.
Hey Henry! Thanks for drop by and provided us the valuable experience. Please tell us more when you get your original voltage stabilizer! We would love to hear your experience 🙂
Yeah the genuine one’s are discontinued from Pivot Japan so any in circulation are Chinese imitation. Have emailed Pivot Japan and asked where to buy genuine but still not heard back from them.
Yao Yang Haha, most of car owners dun check for the circuitry problem, including myself 🙂
don't worry, this voltage stabilizer isn't really helping the car…
Kelvin Ang
thanks for the reply,
i don't actually know how to check on the circuitry problem @.@".
hahaz
Haha Yao Yang, most of car owners dun check for the circuitry problem, including myself 🙂
Hi Yao Yang,
is your old Wira have any circuitry problem?
if not, then there no point to install the voltage stabilizer….
Hi, I have and old wira, do you think this going to help in the old circuit? O.o
Hi Yao Yang,
is your old Wira have any circuitry problem?
if not, then there no point to install the voltage stabilizer…
Those colorful blue cable is unnecessary, even a simple thick wire from your old fan can do same function.
Hi Itai,
thanks for drop by.
Any wires can do the same function. As I mentioned in the post, I installed this Voltage Stabilizer and Grounding Cable solely on cosmetic purpose, not due to the performance upgrade.
Cheers!
Hi Willi,
nothing improved after I installed the voltage stabilizer. The voltage stabilizer merely for cosmetic purposes only 🙂
wow that's cool, any improvements after applying it? thx 🙂
Let me tell you what,.. The Pivot that you all purchased in Malaysia is Replicate… origin is China.. if you search at google.. you could find those replicate sell at around 50 Yen/ PCS. . ,. grounding cable also replicate..and china copy technology is superb where everything is look exactly, even the box printing and barcode also copy… an Original Pivot VS and grounding cable from Japan is not such CHEAP.. is more EXPENSIVE >RM300.

Hey Chan,
Thanks for dropped by and the sharing. Yea, I gotta admit my Pivot might be fake too even with the label.
Anyhow, those voltage stabilizer don’t really improved my car’s performance…
It merely just for cosmetic purposes…
I browsing through some forum.. most of them comment.. the VS and grounding cable did nothing on new car.. however.. there is positive effect on old car with degraded wiring and grounding system.
yup, even the positive effect is not going to have anything to do with the car performance.
The VS would be improve merely only on some electrical parts around the car.
Hi Kelvin,
Just to add, I did alot of research since I purchased a MegaRAIZIN (Purple one) at the same place & I suspect it to be fake.
Selling price was RM348.
I checked with the authorised distributor for MY & SG & it was being sold for SGD$195 (which is nearly RM600)
Also, it is supposed to help voltage fluctuations (ur lights getting dimmer when the A/C kicks in, etc) which would ensure a more stable current. Differences may be negligible but I can attest as I did purchase a Hot Inazma VS on my previosu ride that costs me RM800 – it improved some throttle response, F/C improved by 5% easily & my battery lasted me 3 years (just a regular, plain Jane batt).
Anyways, I’m not going to brush these guys aside until I receive a full refund of the entire cost spent on this counterfeit.
Btw, I’ve heard using imitation ones could be dangerous to your vehicle as the condensers could blow up, so better be safe and remove it first.
Cheers !
Hi Commander,
thanks for drop by shared to us the voltage stabilizer experience.
We love it, and we wish to see more such sharing 🙂
Your Hot Inazma VS worked might due to your previous ride electrical performance degraded. The whole idea of installing Voltage Stabilizer and grounding cables are to improve the circuitry on the ride back to its optimum stage, just like new car. Old ride soon have degraded cables and electronic parts, thus installing VS and Grounding Cables are not helping on new vehicles.
This is just my layman analysis, I hope to hear more from our fellow readers 🙂
Oh yea, that VS is still in my Toyota Vios but the 1-2 pcs of grounding cables have loosen up and I threw away d 🙁
I always being skeptical on how these product could improve and many people claim save on fuel consumption and enhance electronic peripherals.
Due to many factors on how the current flows within the vehicle regulates the works, I doubt these product could do anything improve anything, if you are lucky hopes it won’t worsen your vehicle like blowing your bulbs.
I am not saying these product are bad, infact they are good. They serve the purpose as what they had advertised and it really works in a sense improving regulating the electric current, stabilizing the voltage. But we as consumer is it really following as what they (designer & manufacturer) did the same having almost similar setup on the vehicle to make all these things works? I doubted. I mean these people might testing on customized vehicle or some rocket machine and tell the whole world their product is proven to have the best stabilizing voltage in the universe and you can have it in just 99Dollar.. (sound like tv adverting huh… :P)
I had these install many years ago and person seems very professional to me as I know nothing about these, he brought all the electronic equipment tester ,rolls of cables in variety color make, big-small-super-many-buttons-device. (this is really professional) Upon installation, he check every single electric cable using his Space-ship portable device.. I was confused when everything installed nicely and he start to take out and redo again. I ask what happened. He replied some cable having current flow inconsistent, need to change to different cable. Even he warn me that he need some screw (which bolt directly to body) to unscrew and scrap the paint-color on bolt area and rebolt it. I asked why cant just screw on it, why need to scrap my paint?
He said that is a good flowing area (showing me his space-ship device reading) and because the paint is non-conduction that could weaken the electric current flows.. I was like… “Oh.. Okay..(puzzled facial)”
All completed after 4hours…just to install 1 stabilizer and grounding cables. For RM300. (He claimed could save on fuel and better lifespan electronic peripherals)
I start to study on these things, many claim they could save fuel some just say piece of rubbish. If you really need to know how fuel efficiency, bring your vehicle to dyno, check each of every spark plug cables electric flows, understand how much current your spark plug receiving, plug in OBD reader see how these voltage stabilizer perform, dismantle your speaker and check the positive and negative reading, check your airflows, check on air-cond compressor electric consumption and many more.
If you are not doing least some of these item above. Sorry to say you are installing just for cosmetic looks, I mean these purple and blue looks cool too. I would do it for cosmetic looks, better then dull grayish, dark black color engine bay.
And guess what, I don’t feel my vehicle drink lesser fuel or my speaker sing in much crispy sound nor my headlight are brighter after spending RM300.
Sorry if I have offended any reader but these are the truth..
Hi Francis,
Thanks for drop by! Wow, in fact I thought my post was being spammed because the comment is so long. HAHA
Thanks for taking effort to share your experience and point of view at here.
Hell yea, in fact these voltage stabilizer devices are not giving my any better fuel consumption too! And with our car battery act as a voltage regulator in the electrical system, the tiny voltage stabilizer can contribute anything to the system.
As an electronic engineer, I would said that the voltage stabilizer and grounding cables can help to reduce some electrical noise and ripples in the car electrical system, but we can barely feel any difference at all. And this only applied to bad circuitry system, if your car is…
A car that not older than 8 years will still have good circuitry system!
Well Francis, at least our car looks cool when we open our car hood 🙂
Cheers bro!
