Clean your air filters

We often forget about them, but our car air filters can be filled to the brim with dust, pollen, and other debris. This build-up can decrease engine performance, cause allergies and breathing problems. Once you’ve washed them, alongside improving your car performance, driving will be much more pleasant as you can keep away those unpleasant odors. It’s surprisingly easy to do!

Purchase some car accessories

Back support, steering wheel covers, fuzzy dice, and cushions. You’ve probably looked at all the different car accessories and thought to yourself, “Is it really worth it?”. Well, the short answer is yes. If you’re going to be driving on long trips, having that extra support and luxury can make a big difference. While you do pay for quality, you don’t have to splurge too much. Many great budget items work just as well.

Wear yellow glasses

While it might sound strange, yellow glasses have many benefits, especially when driving. The amber tones block blue light, enhance contrast and improve depth perception, making them great for the nighttime and overcast conditions. By choosing to wear them, you’ll be more alert when out on the road and will stress less about causing an accident. They really can be a lifesaver!

Diffuse essential oils

The scents around us can make a big difference in our mindset, so getting an essential oil diffuser in your car, can be a great choice. Just remember to stay away from super relaxing scents, such as Lavender or Valerian. The last thing you want is to fall asleep! Other options such as Lemongrass, Coffee, Cinnamon leaf, Geranium, and Peppermint are better as they can keep you alert and aware.

Use a windshield sunshade

There’s nothing worse than getting into your car on a hot day and burning yourself on the steering wheel. It can take a long time for the air to cool things down, and by then, you have often already arrived at your destination! A windshield sunshade is a blessing and can make your summer driving trips much more comfortable. Trust us when we say it will become your new favorite car essential.

Adjust your seating

Lastly, one of the easiest ways to be more comfortable when driving is to adjust your seating. You want to ensure that your legs aren’t cramped, but your feet still sit nicely on the pedals. Aim to have a 100-110-degree angle between your hips and back. Your shoulders should be behind your hips, and your seat height should put your hips in alignment with your knees.
