How to do Wheels Burnout and Powerslide using A/T Transmission Car?

Whenever you watch Fast & Furious , you will amazed how the performance cars performs the deadly stuns such as wheels burnout, powerslide, drifting on the screen. Most of the stuns looks really GOOD to audiences.

Some of the stuns performed by the car racers do really have some POSITIVE REASONS behind the show.

For example, A burnout (also known as a peel out or power brake) is the practice of keeping a vehicle stationary and spinning its wheels, causing the tires to heat up and smoke due to friction.

Drag racing slicks perform better at higher temperatures, and a burnout is the quickest way to raise tire temperature immediately prior to a race. They also clean the tire of any debris and lay down a layer of rubber by the starting line for better traction.

  1. The car must be standstill in position
  2. Assure the gear in “Neutral” position
  3. Rev up your engine to 4000 to 6000rpm, or higher better and hold the high RPM there.
  4. While holding the high RPM on the gas pedal, quickly shift the auto gear knob from “Neutral” to “3” or “2” or even “L”. Don’t shift to “Drive” mode because it doesn’t work well.

How to do Powerslide on your A/T Transmission Vehicles

Powersliding is a technique used to maneuver around corners while still maintaining forward momentum. The technique involves going through the first half of the turn normally, then cutting the steering wheel 180 degrees while still accelerating. This causes the tires to temporarily lose traction, thus causing a slide.

  1. Enter a turn as normal. Make sure to follow the best line around the turn, taking the front of the car through the apex.
  2. As you pass through the apex, cut the wheel in the direction of the turn at least ninety degrees. Simultaneously, increase your acceleration. Now is when you will begin to feel the tires lose traction. To further reduce power to the wheels, you can dip the clutch just a bit.
  3. The key to properly executing the turn is to recognize when to let go of the gas. Once the nose of the car completes the turn and points in the direction you want to go, EASE OFF THE THROTTLE. As you begin to let go of the accelerator, the car will begin to regain traction and thrust you forward.

The whole reasons I perform the wheel burnout and power slide on the grass, is because the surface is more slippery and less traction compared to normal drive road. This would reduce damage to my precious Michelin XM2 tyres.

There is no solid advantage of doing both stun on the normal driving road, but merely just to show OFF and have FUN with your vehicle.
