Benefits of using Fuel Injector Cleaner for my Toyota Vios VVT-i Engine
I had done my very first major service (40,000KM) at Toyota Service Centre at Prai, Butterworth. Other than just normal parts replacement of like those air element filter, engine oil, oil filter, and brake oil flushed with the Advanced Max Check package offered by Toyota, this time I’ve being introduced to Fuel Injector Cleaner from the Toyota Service Centre. The small bottle of Fuel Injector Cleaner cost me RM42.
The Fuel Injector Cleaner will be poured inside the petrol tank and mixed together with petrol. Based on the instruction label behind the Fuel Injector Cleaner bottle, 1 bottle of the Fuel Injector Cleaner is to be pour inside fuel tank with less than 35 liters of petrol. For more than 35 liters of petrol, 2 bottles of Fuel Injector Cleaner are required.
According to the Toyota Service Centre advisor who served me at that time, this Fuel Injector Cleaner helps to clean up the injection nozzles, intake valves, combustion chambers and spark plugs from carbons in our car’s engine.
The injection nozzles, intakes valves, combustion chambers and spark plugs inside our car’s engine are contaminated with carbons throughout the prolonged usage of the impurities petrol in Malaysia.
Benefits of Fuel Injector Cleaner:
- Injection Nozzles – remove deposits from injection nozzle, prevent poor combustion and restores engine performance.
- Combustion Chambers – removes deposits from the combustion chambers, and minimize engine knocking.
- Intake Valves – removes deposits from intake valves, and achieve better accelerator response.
- Spark Plugs – removes carbon accumulated on the spark plugs, prevent misfiring and provides better engine start-up.
So, when are we supposed to use Fuel Injector Cleaners? How do we know when our intake valves, combustion chambers, spark plugs and injection nozzles are contaminated with carbons?
A sign that the Fuel Injectors are dirty when the vehicle has insufficient power, poor fuel economy, slow engine responsiveness, engine noise and rough idling. This is right time where we should use the Fuel Injector Cleaner into the car.
Some website recommended that typical cars on the road in Malaysia should use Fuel Injector Cleaner for every 20,000KM to 30,000KM in order to achieve optimum results. The carbons take at least 20,000KM to build up in our engine’s injectors.
After I’ve filled up the Toyota Fuel Injector Cleaner into the petrol tank of my Toyota Vios, my car is more responsive, better performance and ‘lighter’ too. The performance is equivalent that I just had my engine oil change for my car.

Hi GT, great. I am sure your Toyota will be so much smoother for these few weeks.
Share to us the result if possible 🙂
Better than just cleaning your car motor fuel injectors…
… Motor valves and lifters cause rough idle stalling and lousy fuel economy when dirty. They cause tap and rough idling to occur to every engine over time.
While cleaning fuel injectors has been a popular idea, newer hi-tech products will clean dirty pistons bearings valves and gears, then smooth and add filler for a return to a chemically tuned motor – just fuel injector cleaner cannot provide. Leading the way is a product called Mega Power Worn Motor Treatment. USA. This new Mega Power Worn Motor Treatment is a Do-it-yourself tune up product to restore the like new performance ending wear and tear and dirty injectors problem. Your money is well spent when piston bearings valves and gears are cleaned and smooth – along with cleaning dirty injectors. This is now done by anyone with the Mega Power Worn Motor Treatment. http://www.auto-tune-up-and-repair-options.com/worn-motor-treatment.html
Thanks for the information. I just bought a bottle to try out on my Toyota which hit 125K KM!
I just saw a bottle of this stuff myself, and wondered whether it was actually any good. I’ll go out and pick some up before I gas up next time, and hopefully it will help my car as much as you feel it helped yours.
Hi,
yeah! This bottle is awesome. Use it once a while to keep your fuel injector clean all the time.
