If you want to customize your car’s appearance to give it a more personal touch, and make it look better than some drab cookie-cutter car off the same factory line as thousands of others just like it, you can make several great-looking modifications for cheap. Here are some of the most affordable appearance modifications to enhance the look of your car.
Tinted Lights
Tinting the light covers on your vehicle can help add an edgier look to your vehicle, especially if it goes with a darker paint color for the rest of your vehicle., You can tint your headlights and/or tail lights for as little as $50, or maybe even a bit less depending on what method you use and if you do it yourself. If you get a professional to do it, you will probably double the cost.
Tinted Windows
Tinting your windows can look really sharp with tinted lights and a darker vehicle color. You can do it for less than $100 with a basic kit, or spend a bit more for better quality and a professional installation — neither a DIY or professionally installed kit will break the bank as an appearance modification.
Side Mirror Wraps
Wrapping the roof of your car is a classic way to modify the appearance of your car, but tends to be more expensive due to the materials and size of the area. However, you can have your side mirrors wrapped to add some nice-looking accent colors to your vehicle for a lot cheaper. You can do it yourself for under $50 easily, but if you want to make sure it’s done right due to the shape of the side mirrors, you can still get it done for just over $100 depending on the materials and the shop.
Interior Lighting Enhancement
You can make the interior of your vehicle look incredible with some modifications to the interior lighting. Add some accent lighting in a color tone of your choice to the foot wells, trim, gear knob, and so on — if done right, it can give a space-luxury look to your vehicle. You can get very affordable DIY kits, as in under $50-affordable.
Racing Stripes
Ever see a classic blue Ford Mustang with the white racing stripe? It can really make your vehicle look amazing, and doesn’t have to be that expensive. If you buy a fully professional set and have it installed at a dealership, it can cost more than $1000. However, you can also get pre-cut stripes and either put them on your car by yourself to save the money, or have a car graphics place that might do it for cheaper than a dealer would.
Spoiler
A spoiler works best if your vehicle already looks sporty and fast. Pick something that matches the color/style of your vehicle, and don’t go overboard with the size or spacing between it and your vehicle. You can get decent ones starting at just over $100, or scale up to something custom or much higher quality if you don’t actually mind splurging on one.
Lower Ride Height
If you really like the look of a car that has a lower ride height, you can get a DIY kit for as little as $100 if you think you can install the new springs yourself. If not, it might cost another $100 to $200 to have them installed by a professional mechanic. The cost will depend on the type of springs or coils that your vehicle uses, so spec out your modification ahead of time to avoid spending thousands of dollars.
