Raytech tint film has being introduced in Malaysia for more than 10 years ago but the business never expanded to Penang until recently. Just last month on 27th Dec 2014, the new Raytech Tint Shop branch located in Penang had a grand opening ceremony.
The Raytech Georgetown Tint Shop Penang branch is located at strategic location, Jalan Perak, Georgetown, Penang. I can easily spot the shop without any difficulty.
Inside the shop is very clean, and is professionally set up. As I walking inside to the shop, I get a warm welcome by a pretty lady, known as Rachel.
She took me to tour around the shop and brought me into the demo room and carefully explain to me the details of Raytech Tint Films. Raytech tint films manufacturing from US and their technology about heat shielding are well known to the world.
The demo room was designed in the professional way. There are a lot of tint films information writing on the wallpaper and there are display TV to show to the customer about the Raytech tint films.
Another thing that impressed me was the Raytech demo room comes with Raytech demo booth where they can shows to customer the way of testing the effectiveness of the different types of tint films using spotlight to imitate the sun heat.
Other than that, Rachel also shared with me that a lot of tint films in the market are selling much cheaper due they are selling non-genuine tint film with fake IRR, UV rejection stats that are made from Korea and China. They simply claim the IRR rejection is up to 90%, but the fact that the IRR rejection from the tint film is only 60%. Those tint films are also the low grade tint films, where the heat rejection easily wear off after 1-2 years of installed on vehicle. Then, consumers will experience the color fading on the tint films as fast in less than 2 years, and bubble started appearing on on the tint films.
To identify the tint films are genuine or not, consumers have do some homework before purchase tint films for their cars. Consumers should read the information from the authorize USA tint films manufacturer websites and learn the product series and models.
Another way to identify if the tint films are genuine or not, consumers can ask the seller the background of the tint films that the seller are offering, by asking the manufacturing site and ask them to show the packaging, logo and the serial number of the tint films. In fact, genuine tint films on itself do have the logo or trademark stamped. If the tint films are non-genuine, the sellers usually unable to provide the above requested information.
Rachel also shared to me the Raytech tint is listed as the worldwide distributor from CLC website. She demonstrated to me the several type of tint films from well-known companies and it was proven Raytech heat shielding as good as those well-known tint films in the market by using the British Thermo Unit(BTU) Meter Testing. I was convinced by the result, and decided to install the Raytech tint films for my Toyota Vios GT Street.
I’ve chosen Raytech Centurion 6mil that come with safety features for my 4 side glasses and Raytech Utra 70 2mil for the front windscreen.
The installation of the Raytech tint films took roughly around 2 hours and I was invited to the customer waiting room. The room was so comfortable, with air-conditioner, TV set, sofa and equipped with WIFI facility as well.
Of course, the 2 hours to sitting inside the room wasn’t my way. I went to the installation site on and off to check how they execute the tint films installation on my car. Raytech staffs are well trained, they carefully remove my old tint films and install the new Raytech tint films without open any single door panels, but only remove the rubber cover.
They even have specific cloth to cover my Toyota Vios dashboard to prevent contamination and they are wearing their special rubbers where no dust or contamination to be bring into the car.
After 2 hours, the tint films installation is completed. Then we performed 2 round testing on the tint films that installed to my car.
The 1st round is use the hot spotlight to shine on my car, and check the IRR reading. The reading was way below 100.
2nd round, we moved the car out to outdoor to measure the IRR reading with the British Thermo Unit (BTU) meter. Again, the reading was below 100. This has proven the installed tint films are reducing the IRR effectively.
Raytech provides the warranty up to 7 years from the date of the tint films installed to the car. And they even have additional guarantee, where if the tint films performance dropped more than 10% within the warranty period, Raytech offers to replace the tint films for free to the consumers.
I am very happy with the good performance Raytech tint films on my car, and the Raytech warranty system as well. The warranty card has the tint films hologram stickers on it, the stickers are only able to obtained from the tint film roller that we saw above and this assure consumers are getting the only genuine tint films.
Overall, I am very satisfied with Raytech tint films and their professional services. Let me know if you have query about the business or tint film, I am ready to talk more about it or drop your details at below and don’t forget to give us a ‘Like’ at bottom 🙂
Boss. Very good explanation. But I want to know further details how exactly can I identify the RX series one? I just bought a car and the honda seller install it for me as he got voucher from raytech tinted. He said it was RX series (6mill thick one) and said got 5 years warranty. But I didnt get the warranty cards like yours. My honda seller didnt give me the warranty card. Want to go back the shop to claim warranty with my honda seller because the tinted installation got bubble all windows and not fit nicely on the edges in some window. Saw some gap at the edges. So i want to ensure whether it was genuine RX series or not when I go back to the shop when claim the warranty. I feel irritated when I saw the tinted in my car becoming like that. Install vkool in my Vios far more better fitting. Looks perfect. No bubbles and fit nicely on the edges. Not satisfied when I saw expensive tinted is lousy installation then the cheaper tinted. So any advice boss? Want to know how to identify the RX series one. Thank you for your time. Hope you can help me out.
Hello Hilmi,
thanks for the comment, and sorry to hear that there is bubble on your tint.
I would recommend you go after your salesman to get the Raytech warranty card, or you can show him this article to proof. All Raytech film come with warranty card and with the spec stated.
Bubble on tint definitely can be claim from the Raytech tint.
So bro, ask your salesman where is the warranty card or get him bring you to the tint shop.
Yup I already chase my car salesman for the warranty card and he said warranty card still with the tint shop. He still not yet take from the tint shop. I will go with my salesman to the tint shop. Anything I’ll show the my car salesman and the tint shop your article if they try to con me. Thanks man.
Hi kelvin, u already use raytech for quite some time. What is the feedback on raytech film??
Hi Lim,
thanks for the comment.
The Raytech film works really well, all my friends felt the different when I picked them for the lunch on day time. It has being a year, and the performance of the film is still great!
Hi Kelvin, I wish I came across your blog earlier. I just did my tinting at the same Raytech branch. I assume when you say 2k+ it’s close to 2k. I was charged 2.2k for V97 (non-security side+rear), Q70 (only second best to your Ultra70). I really need to do more homework/learn to bargain next time 🙁
Hi YJ,
thanks for the drop by.
According the Augustine, Raytech has the standard price for each type of package; according the model of the vehicle.
Anyhow, enjoy your new tint film 🙂
Hi Kelvin, thanks for the feedback. Will drop by and ask around as I stay nearby there only. Wonder how much will be the entry level tint film that is available?
Hi Khoo,
you are welcome.
The entry level of tint film probably would cost around RM1K~
Hi Kelvin, may i know how much the raytech charge you for your whole car tinted?
Hi Khoo,
the whole package cost me RM2K plus, they have different pricing for different car.
Maybe you want walk in to the shop to get to know the exact price for the tint film on your car 🙂
Hi Kelvin, thanks for the reply.
Do you think is worth to install such an expensive tinted or just some in house brand tinted that cost few hundred will do? As I understand some their in house brand is kinda worse……

Hi Khoo,
nice to hear from you again.
personally experience has taught me home brand tint film is something we must avoid, not only is doesn’t reject heat at all and it don’t last on your vehicle too.
I kinda agree RM2k+ for tint film is expensive for average income earner like us, I propose you to take lower spec of original tint film rather than choose the premium spec tint film.
